Dreams of Transformation

The writer, Rainer Maria Rilke, advised a young poet, “Then try, like some first human being, to say what you see and experience and love and lose.” I first read that when I was 15 and starting to build my life around photography. Those impulses still guide me. I photograph what I see and experience and love and lose. You could say I feel a connection and make a picture. Then I put photographs together, sometimes thematically, but more often in a dream-like arrangement. When an image calls to you, enter the piece and follow wherever your eye or heart takes you.
